APPLICATIONS DUE BY APRIL 15, 2024
UPLIFT Scholarships cover registration for any of our professional development symposiums. These scholarships are funded by college coaches and servant leaders who have decided to GIVE BACK to the game. These scholarships can be used for any A STEP UP, INC. professional development symposium. A STEP UP, INC is a 501(c)3 and your donation will be tax deductible.
Scholarships cover the registration cost of any professional development symposium. Scholarship recipients are responsible for their travel and hotel accommodations.
registration scholarship Eligibility

All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or have an anticipated graduation date of May 2024.

Currently employed part-time or full-time as an assistant or seeking employment as a college assistant coach.

Applicants may be male or female.

All Applicants must be available to attend the symposium in its entirety (May 20 – 22, 2024).

Scholarship winners must cover their own travel arrangements and hotel accommodations to the Symposium
REGISTRATION application REQUIREMENTS

A current resume with three references.

One typed letter of recommendation from your head coach or athletic director.

Personal statement answering the following questions:
1.) Why would you like to attend A STEP UP, NEXT LEVEL or the HEAD COACHES LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?
2.) How do you believe attending will benefit your professional development?
3.) Why is financial assistance being requested?
About ANNE DONOVAN UPLIFT MEMORIAL registration Scholarships
When someone holds a special place in your heart, makes a big impact in your life or changes their community for good, it’s fitting to honor their contributions. Anne Donovan and I worked together for two seasons with the WNBA Charlotte Sting where Anne led the Sting to the WNBA Championship series vs the Los Angeles Sparks. Johnny and I considered Anne a friend and were fortunate to do some team building work with Anne’s teams at Seton Hall and the WNBA Seattle Storm. Because of several of our Board Members’ relationship with Anne, we would like to carry on her legacy of coaching — teaching current and future generations by naming our UPLIFT Scholarship in memory of Anne this year.
Education, Professional Development and Leadership Development are gifts that last a lifetime, and the ANNE DONOVAN - UPLIFT Memorial Registration Scholarship gives a meaningful way to honor Anne’s commitment to advancing the game as a player and a coach.
To date, thanks to the generous contributions of Coaches, friends, and family of Anne we have been able to award close to 350 UPLIFT Registration Scholarships.
